Bethenny Frankel returns to The Real Housewives of New York City, the Bravo franchise that first introduced her to the world, as a regular cast member for season 7. Premiering tonight (April 7), this season will deal with many already publicly-acknowledged topics: Ramona Singer's divorce, Frankel's foray into the talk show world, and a new cast member, Dorinda Medley.
Here, Frankel tells us how she would spend 24 hours in New York and opens up about her return on the show and her newest book.
You're back on The Real Housewives of New York City. What compelled you to return?
BETHENNY FRANKEL: I missed my relationship with the viewers. I have been through so much with them and I wanted that connection back.
What can we expect from this season?
BF: It is a very intense, fun, moving, and unexpected season. This cast is going through a transformation that I haven't seen before in my experience on reality television.
Have you gotten particularly close to any of the newer cast members?
BF: You will have to watch to see who I connect with. There are some very deep moments between the girls.
Let's say you only have only 24 hours in New York. Where do you go? What do you do?
BF: I would have incredible Italian food, eat at an outdoor café, have cocktails at an amazing mixology bar, visit Chelsea Market and The High Line, and walk around the West Village and SoHo.
In your latest book, I Suck at Relationships So You Don't Have To, your tips are all based on experience. What are the top dating/relationship rules that everyone should follow?
BF: I am no expert, but women need to go with their guts versus their head or their hearts. Never underestimate the simplicity of a man, [and] less is more in speech, in makeup, in trying to hard to be sexy.
